Unique and pretty Japanese train station

1. Gensei Kaen Station

Gensei Kaen Station on the Senmo Main Line in Koshimizu, Shari-gun, Hokkaido, is only open from May to October when there is no snow. The surroundings are made up of natural scenery, so if you visit in spring or autumn, you can enjoy very beautiful scenery. The sand dunes along the coast naturally became a flower garden, and it is an unmanned station built in it.

There are no permits in the vicinity, and it is a station for people visiting the Koshimizu Gensei Garden. You can take a leisurely walk while enjoying the comfortable and magnificent nature, and during the season, you can rent stationmaster's clothes that are actually being used.

2. Toai Station

Doai Station, also known as Mole Area, is an unexplored area in Minaka Village, Gunma Prefecture. The reason for this nickname is that the home for getting off is located in a tunnel that passes underground.

What is surprising is the elevation difference from the home to the station. You have to go down about 462 steps and reach about 70m underground to reach the station. You can enjoy the thrill of underground exploration until you reach home. Recommended for those who like scary or unique things!

3. Todoroki Station

Todoroki Station, located in the town of Fukaura in Aomori Prefecture, is an unexplored station that runs five times a day along the sea. There are no buildings around, and only the blue sea and sky spread along the railroad tracks.

Because it is a little far from the town, there are few people, and the wooden station building built in Odokani reminds me of a scene from a lonely movie somewhere. In winter, these sensibility and atmosphere are further upgraded.

4. Shimonada Station

It is a famous role that often appears in movies, dramas, and posters. It is said to be the closest station to the sea, and even though it is an unexplored area, it is popular with people.

Also, if you walk about 20 minutes from the station, you can see the railroad tracks submerged in the sea, reminiscent of a scene from 'Spirited Away'.
